📌 Overview
Mornova is a smart wake-up lamp composed of three modular parts:
- A laser-engraved swappable light sheet
- A layered laser-cut acrylic stand
- A 3D-printed structural core that houses a Raspberry Pi, sensors, and internal wiring
This case study focuses on Iteration 2 and 3 of the 3D-printed structure, where I refined the geometry for printability, aesthetic integration, and functional use—especially regarding support material and assembly.
🔁 Iteration 2: First 3D Print Attempt
🎯 Design Goal
- Integrate all electronics into one clean structure
- Allow wiring to pass through without external clutter
- Match the stand’s geometry for proper fit
🛠️ Process
- Modeled internal channels and mounting geometry
- Printed with PLA; included vertical hollows and overhangs
- Required dense internal supports
